Inforens Case Study
Studying abroad made easier
User Experience Research | Ideation Process | UI Design
Overview
Inforens run a peer-to-peer consultation model, which allows prospective students (mentees) to match with students (mentors) who are pursuing the same course/ programme/ scholarship as they desire. The student mentors also help their mentee matches with interview preparations, SOP and LOR writing, CV creation, and university selection, among much more. Not only does this model help mentees get the most reliable information at the most affordable rates but it also enables the mentors to earn a fee in exchange for their consultation.
The Brief
“We are looking for a transparent connection between two parties i.e. prospective students and current students. We want to give in-detail information of current students to the prospective students so that they can connect directly to each other through an application and discuss on those topics they need help with. For example Scholarship Guidance, Personal statement and many more”.
What does success looks like?
“We are looking forward to increase student community on the platform so that bounce back rate of students increase and see major conversion in terms of sales in our services”.

Key Findings
“I was disappointed with one consultancy that didn't explain clearly all the fees and taxes I was supposed to expect to pay for”
Trust & Transparency Issues
Money Matters
“I feel like financing is one of the biggest issues all the students face here, mostly since our currency is not that stable as compared to the global currencies.”
“I would also look where my friends or my relatives living abroad are located so that if I'm stuck or a problem, I can have a little bit of help from someone I know.”
Support Network
“My consultant was great helping me to get all the paperwork done and visa approved. But they didn't recommended anything good in regards to accommodation.”

User Goals
As a prospecting student, I would like to find a place where I can connect -securely and safely- with other students with a similar career path and education interests
As a current student in Uni, I would like to have a place where I can share my experience of getting to University with people looking into studying the same field as I am.
